A study at John Hopkins University School of Medicine found that a diet high in fat and sugar alters opiod receptor levels in an area in the brain that controls food intake.
These findings suggest that consuming a diet high in fat and high in sugar, lowers your ability to control how much you eat during a meal. Researchers believe this may be the biological basis for eating disorders.
